Former HHS Secretary & Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius Endorses Patrick Schmidt for Congress

TOPEKA, Kan.–Former Health and Human Services Secretary and Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius has announced her endorsement of Patrick Schmidt for Kansas’ Second Congressional District.

“Patrick Schmidt is a naval intelligence veteran who will work hard to protect our critical military assets in Kansas. His commitment to focus on the issues facing working families in the 2nd District reflects the values he learned from his family- a long line of farmers, veterans, teachers, and coal miners.

Patrick chose to return to Kansas from the Navy and wants to continue to serve his country, following the example of former Senator Bob Dole, who went from military service to public service for the state he loved. Patrick believes that the problems facing Kansans in the 2nd District can be solved by working hard to listen to constituents about their challenges and hopes, which is why he has been touring the District and meeting as many people as possible. Patrick will work hard to find solutions to problems and bring common-sense Kansas values to Washington to improve the lives of the families he hopes to serve.

I appreciate Patrick’s willingness to continue his service to the country and the state of Kansas, and look forward to helping him be elected to serve as my representative in Washington.”
